:  a rare congenital X-linked disease that affects males and is characterized especially by retinal malformation and opacification of the vitreous body leading to blindness, by progressive mental deterioration, and by deafness

Norrie, Gordon (1855–1941), Danish ophthalmologist. Norrie described the congenital disease that bears his name in a 1927 article on the causes of blindness in children.
